As DJ at Hopetoun House, we get to work in one of Scotland’s most spectacular settings. It’s the kind of venue that stops you in your tracks the first time you see it. Many call it Scotland’s finest stately home. The estate itself spans 6,500 acres on the banks of the Firth of Forth. It’s been the backdrop for some of the most extraordinary weddings and events we’ve been part of. If you’ve seen the Outlander TV series, you may recognise parts of the grounds. The Adam Ballroom is, without question, one of the most impressive rooms we get to work in — high ceilings, ornate plasterwork, and a scale that suits large wedding parties beautifully. The acoustics do need a bit of care, though: the room is live and can turn reverberant at higher volumes, so system placement really matters here. Over the years we’ve learned exactly how to set up in this room to get the best possible sound without losing control of it. For smaller events, the Adam Stables make a lovely, more intimate alternative.
