PAT Tested Equipment — Safety You Can Count On

When you book Premier Disco for your wedding, corporate event or charity night, you can be confident that every piece of electrical equipment we bring has been fully PAT tested and certified. Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) is the standard electrical safety inspection required by most professional venues in Scotland — and something we take seriously.

What Is PAT Testing?

PAT testing — Portable Appliance Testing — is the process of checking electrical equipment to make sure it is safe to use. It involves both a visual inspection and an electrical test of each item. For a professional DJ and entertainment provider like Premier Disco, this covers everything from PA systems and amplifiers to lighting rigs, cables and power distribution units.

Why It Matters for Your Event

Most professional venues — hotels, golf clubs, bowling clubs and function suites — require proof of PAT testing before any external equipment can be connected to their power supply. It is also a condition of most public liability insurance policies. In short, if your DJ’s equipment isn’t PAT tested, the venue may refuse to allow the event to go ahead.

All Premier Disco equipment carries up-to-date PAT certification. We can provide documentation on request — simply ask when you make your booking and we will include it with your confirmation.

What Equipment Is Tested?

  • PA sound systems and amplifiers
  • DJ mixing and playback equipment
  • Stage and disco lighting rigs
  • Power distribution units and extension leads
  • Race night projection and tote equipment
  • SpeedQuiz display and audio equipment

Public Liability Insurance

In addition to PAT testing, Premier Disco carries full public liability insurance. Combined with our PAT certification, this means we meet the safety requirements of virtually every professional venue in Scotland. If your venue has specific requirements, just let us know and we will confirm our documentation covers them.

Have a question about our safety certifications or need documentation for your venue? Get in touch and we will come back to you promptly.

Need PAT testing for your own equipment? Premier Disco also offers professional PAT testing services for businesses, venues and individuals across Edinburgh and central Scotland.
