Silent Disco Hire Scotland — Full DJ Service, Not Just Headsets
Premier Disco provides professional silent disco hire across Scotland — with experienced DJs, wireless headsets, up to three simultaneous music channels, full lighting, and all the equipment needed for a complete event. We are an entertainment company, not a headset hire company. When you book a silent disco with us, we’re there for the whole night managing the music and the crowd, not dropping off a box of kit and leaving.
How Our Silent Disco Works
Guests wear wireless headsets and listen to music directly rather than through speakers. Each headset picks up up to three simultaneous DJ channels — colour-coded so guests can see at a glance what their neighbours are listening to and switch instantly between them. The result is a room where different groups are dancing to different music at the same time, with spontaneous dance-offs breaking out as people move between channels. From the outside it looks surreal. From the inside it's one of the most fun entertainment formats at any event.
We run up to three channels simultaneously, with James operating all of them — one channel can run on auto-play while he DJs the others live. Every booking includes full PA monitors, professional lighting, and as many headsets as your guest numbers require.
Full Service, Not Just Headset Hire
There's a significant difference between a silent disco entertainment service and a headset dry-hire company. We don't offer dry hire. Every silent disco we run includes experienced DJs performing live, professional playout equipment, and full lighting. You're booking a complete evening of entertainment — not a box of headsets you have to manage yourself.
This matters because the quality of the night depends almost entirely on the person behind the decks. Great music selection, reading the crowd, managing energy across three channels, knowing when to build and when to hold back — these are DJ skills, not equipment skills. Perfect For Weddings, Hen Parties, Corporate Events & More
Silent disco works brilliantly as a standalone event or as an add-on to a traditional wedding disco. It's especially popular as a late-night extension at venues with a sound curfew — the music stays in the headsets, so the party continues past the noise cut-off without a single complaint. Other popular uses include:
- Hen parties — a guaranteed talking point and perfect for groups with mixed music tastes
- Outdoor summer events and charity fun nights where traditional sound systems aren't practical
- Corporate events — something genuinely different that gets everyone involved
- Weddings — full evening, late-night segment, or a second room alongside the main ceilidh or disco
- Festivals and outdoor venues with strict noise restrictions

Silent Disco FAQs
What is a silent disco?
A silent disco is an event where guests wear wireless headsets instead of listening to music through speakers. Each headset receives up to three separate channels simultaneously — guests switch between them using a button on the headset. The headset light changes colour to show which channel they're on, creating a fun social atmosphere as people move between groups dancing to different genres.
How many music channels do you offer?
We run up to three simultaneous DJ channels, giving guests a genuine choice of music throughout the night. Each channel is colour-coded on the headset. James operates all three channels — one can run on auto-play while he DJs the others live. Additional DJs can be arranged to operate separate channels if required.
Can I hire just the headsets without a DJ?
No — we don't offer dry hire. We provide headsets only as part of a fully staffed event including experienced DJs, professional playout equipment, and lighting. This ensures the quality of the night is as high as it can be rather than leaving you to manage the equipment yourself.
How long do the headset batteries last?
Up to 10 hours under normal use. A typical event runs up to six hours, so battery life is not a concern for any standard booking.
What is the headset transmission range?
Up to 300 metres, though this varies depending on the venue layout and any walls or obstacles that affect signal. For most indoor events this is more than sufficient to cover the entire room including outdoor areas.
Is silent disco suitable for outdoor events?
Yes — outdoor silent disco is one of our most popular formats. Without the need for large speaker systems, it works brilliantly in gardens, marquees, and outdoor venues where traditional sound equipment would be impractical or where noise restrictions apply. Scottish weather is always a consideration — we'll advise on setup accordingly.
How many guests can you cater for?
We provide headsets for events from around 30 guests up to several hundred. Get in touch with your guest numbers and we'll confirm availability and pricing for your specific date.
How much does silent disco hire cost in Scotland?
Pricing depends on the number of headsets, event duration, and your location. Get in touch with your date and guest numbers and we'll provide a clear, tailored quote with no hidden extras.
How far in advance should I book a silent disco?
Silent disco is in high demand, particularly for summer weddings and peak season events. We recommend booking 6 to 12 months in advance for popular dates. Contact us to check availability for your date.
