Charity Fun Night Scotland — Races, Quiz, Games and More
Looking for a charity fun night in Scotland that goes beyond a standard race night? Our Charity Fun Night package combines the best of several entertainment formats into one high-energy fundraising evening — horse racing, a smartphone quiz, live games and a DJ, all in one night. As a result, you get more variety, more engagement and more money raised for your cause.
If you’ve run race nights before and want to offer your guests something fresh, or if you’re planning your first ever fundraiser and want to pack the evening with variety, this is the package for you.

What's in a Charity Fun Night?
A Charity Fun Night is a full evening's entertainment built around several different activities. In other words, rather than one format running all night, your guests get a real mix — and as a result, energy stays high from start to finish. Here's what's included:
- 4 horse races — the same format as our popular charity race nights, with betting, commentary and prize payouts using our electronic tote system
- 3 rounds of SpeedQuiz — our smartphone-based quiz where every guest plays on their own phone in real time, with live leaderboards on screen
- Live games — choose from Spin the Wheel, Play Your Cards Right, Chase the Ace, Open the Box, Lucky Ball Grab, Music Bingo and more
- Professional DJ — music throughout the evening to fill the gaps and finish the night on a high
- Experienced hosting by James — keeping the whole evening moving, building atmosphere and making sure every activity runs smoothly
In addition, we can work in your own ideas — a raffle, a heads and tails game, a prize draw or anything else that suits your crowd.
Why a Charity Fun Night Raises More
The problem with running the same fundraiser year after year is that attendance drops and spending per person falls. Guests who've been to several race nights already know what to expect and therefore become less likely to spend big on the night. A Charity Fun Night solves this in two ways.
First, the variety keeps guests engaged for longer. When the quiz is happening, the people who aren't big racing fans are leaning in. When the games start, the tables that didn't win anything in the races get another shot. As a result, more guests stay involved throughout the whole evening rather than drifting to the bar or heading home early.
Second, more activities means more ways to raise money. In addition to race betting, for example, you have quiz entry fees, game participation, and the goodwill that builds naturally as the night gets better. Consequently, the evening earns from several directions rather than just one.

Gameshow Extras for Your Charity Fun Night
For something even more theatrical, we can bring gameshow-style entertainment to your event using specially designed software. Options include Family Fortunes, Wheel of Fortune, Blankety Blank and more — all hosted live in the room with your guests as contestants. Furthermore, these work especially well as a centrepiece activity for a corporate charity night or a large community event.

Recent Event: Macmerry Bowling Club — 10 May 2026
On Saturday 10 May 2026, James ran a Charity Fun Night at Macmerry Bowling Club in East Lothian — one of those evenings where everything clicks from the first race to the last song. The programme included Music Bingo, three rounds of SpeedQuiz, four horse races and a full DJ set to close the night.
Jenna Cockburn, who organised the event, wrote afterwards:
"Still laughing about last night at Macmerry Bowling Club. What a brilliant Fun Night from start to finish — music bingo, quiz chaos, horse racing drama, loads of laughs and honestly just the best atmosphere all night. Huge credit to James (Premier Disco) for putting on such a fun Fun Night and it was brilliant seeing the big screen in action too."

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a Charity Fun Night?
A Charity Fun Night is a combined fundraising entertainment package that includes horse races, a smartphone quiz, live games and a DJ — all in one evening. It's designed as a fresh alternative to a standard race night, with more variety to keep all your guests engaged throughout.
How much can a Charity Fun Night raise?
With multiple activities running across the evening, a Charity Fun Night typically raises as much as — or more than — a standard race night. With good advance preparation, events regularly raise £1,000–£2,500+. We'll help you make the most of every revenue stream before and on the night.
How does the SpeedQuiz work?
Every guest plays on their own smartphone — no paper answer sheets needed. Questions appear on the main screen and on each player's phone simultaneously. Live leaderboards show after every round, which creates real competition throughout the evening. It works brilliantly for all ages and requires no technical knowledge from your guests.
Can we choose which games are included?
Yes — we work with you in advance to build an evening that suits your audience. From the games selection to the quiz format to the race night setup, everything can be tailored to your crowd and your cause.
Is a Charity Fun Night suitable for smaller groups?
Yes. The format scales well from around 50 guests up to 300+. In fact, the smartphone quiz element often works even better with smaller, more intimate groups where the competition gets personal quickly.
How far in advance do I need to book?
We recommend at least 6–8 weeks ahead to give you time to promote the event and sell tickets. Autumn and pre-Christmas dates book up fast, so the sooner you get in touch, the better.
What is included in a Premier Disco Charity Fun Night?
A Charity Fun Night includes 4 horse races with electronic tote betting, 3 rounds of smartphone SpeedQuiz, a choice of live games, professional hosting by James and a DJ set to close the evening. Everything is included in the price — there are no hidden extras.
How much does a charity fun night fundraiser raise in Scotland?
With good advance planning, a Charity Fun Night typically raises £1,000–£2,500+. Multiple activities mean multiple ways to earn money throughout the evening, which helps you raise more than a single-format event would.
Can a charity fun night replace a race night?
Yes — many clients use a Charity Fun Night as a fresh alternative when their regular race night audience needs something new. It covers all the same fundraising bases while offering much more variety for guests.
