Christmas Party DJ Scotland — Make This Year’s Party One to Remember
The Christmas party is the one night of the year when everyone lets their hair down — and the DJ you choose makes all the difference between a night people talk about for years and one they politely forget by January. Premier Disco provides professional Christmas party DJ hire across Scotland, delivering the energy, experience and musical versatility to give your staff, members or guests the celebration they deserve.

We cover everything from intimate office Christmas parties for twenty guests to large-scale corporate Christmas events for hundreds. - Background dinner music — warm, festive and unobtrusive during your Christmas dinner service
- Dancefloor DJ set — the main event, built around your guests and guaranteed to fill the floor
- Christmas playlist integration — classic festive tracks woven naturally into the broader set
- PA and microphone for speeches — crystal-clear audio for your MD’s address or charity auction
- Disco lighting — professional dancefloor lighting that transforms any venue into a proper party space
Getting the Christmas Music Balance Right
Christmas party music is an art form. Too many festive songs and the night feels like a school disco. Too few and guests notice the lack of seasonal atmosphere. The best Christmas party DJs — and we include ourselves firmly in this category — know exactly how to weave Christmas classics into a broader, high-energy set so the festive spirit is always present without ever overwhelming the dancefloor.
From Mariah and Wham to Motown, party classics, RnB and current chart hits, we read the room and build a set that keeps every generation on their feet throughout the night.
Christmas Party Venues Across Scotland
We provide Christmas party DJ entertainment across Edinburgh, Glasgow, Stirling, Dundee, Aberdeen and throughout Scotland. Whether your Christmas party is at a city centre hotel, a function suite, a private members’ club or a venue you’ve taken over for the night, we have the experience and equipment to make it work. VisitScotland’s Edinburgh Christmas guide is worth a look if you are still exploring venue options in the capital. Book Early — Christmas Dates Fill Quickly
November and December dates book up faster than any other time of year. If you are planning a Christmas party in Scotland, we strongly recommend getting in touch as early as possible — ideally by September — to secure your date. Many of our regular corporate clients book their Christmas party DJ for the following year before the current one is even over.
Frequently Asked Questions — Christmas Party DJ Scotland
When should we book a Christmas party DJ in Scotland?
As early as possible — ideally by August or September for a December event. November and December weekends fill up extremely quickly, and the best DJs are always the first to be booked. If you have a date in mind, check our availability now rather than leaving it until autumn.
How much Christmas music do you play?
Enough to feel genuinely festive — not so much that it becomes repetitive or limits the dancefloor energy. We weave classic festive tracks naturally into the broader set, so the Christmas spirit is always present without dominating. You can always tell us your preferences in advance — more Christmas, less Christmas, or even no Christmas music at all if that’s what your crowd would prefer.
Can you handle a dinner and dancing format for our Christmas party?
Yes — this is one of the most common formats we work with. We provide appropriate background music during dinner service, then transition seamlessly into a full dancefloor DJ set once dinner is cleared. The changeover feels natural rather than abrupt, and the energy builds from there.
Do you cover Christmas parties outside Edinburgh?
Yes — we cover Christmas party events across the whole of Scotland, including Glasgow, Stirling, Dundee, Aberdeen, Fife and beyond. Travel costs are always discussed openly and agreed before you book.
Can we give you a list of must-play songs for the night?
Absolutely — we actively encourage it. Once booked, you will have access to our online planning system where you can submit must-plays, do-not-plays and all your music preferences in your own time. We review everything before the event and build your requests into the set naturally.
For Hotels and Venues — Block Booking Enquiries
Every December, Premier Disco works with a small number of hotels and venues across Edinburgh, the Lothians and Central Scotland on a block booking basis — covering every Friday and Saturday night through December, plus Hogmanay itself. The venue gets a consistent, reliable DJ they can trust across the whole festive season; we’re able to plan the busiest period of the year properly without last-minute scrambling.
If you run a hotel, golf club, restaurant or events venue and you’re looking for a Christmas entertainment partner for the season, get in touch early. Block booking enquiries are best made between July and September — the most popular dates go fast, and early contact allows us to plan properly with your events team before the season starts.
- Every Friday and Saturday through December — typically 4–5 weekends
- Hogmanay (31st December) — our most requested single date of the year
- Optional: Christmas Eve and Boxing Day evenings
- A consistent DJ across all dates — same person, same standard every night
- Pre-season planning meeting with your events coordinator
- Flexible formats — themed decades nights, party classics, black-tie sets, or a mix across the season
- Full PA and lighting rig — or we can work with your venue’s own system
- PAT-tested equipment, public liability insurance, written confirmation for every date
Hogmanay — Scotland’s Biggest Night
Hogmanay is the most requested single date of our year. Scotland’s New Year’s Eve is something genuinely special — the transition from the old year to the new is a moment the right DJ can make truly memorable. We build the set carefully around the countdown, handle Auld Lang Syne properly, and keep the floor going well into the new year.
Hogmanay bookings typically run from 8pm through to 1am or 2am depending on the licence. What makes a great Hogmanay set is the build — the energy through the evening, the management of the midnight moment, and the atmosphere afterwards when everyone is genuinely celebrating. We’ve been doing Hogmanay for over 40 years. We know how important it is to get it right.
Hogmanay availability is extremely limited — we take very few bookings for 31st December. If you’re considering a Hogmanay booking, please get in touch by August at the latest. This date almost always fills in summer.
Frequently Asked Questions
When should I book a Christmas party DJ?
As early as possible. December weekends fill up from September onwards. Hogmanay should ideally be booked by August. If you have a specific date in mind, please don’t leave it until October or November to enquire — the most popular dates will already be gone.
Can you do block bookings across the whole of December?
Yes — this is something we actively set up with hotels and venues each year. A block booking covering every Friday and Saturday in December plus Hogmanay gives the venue a consistent DJ they can rely on. Enquiries for block bookings are best made by September. Get in touch and we’ll talk through what a package looks like for your venue and capacity.
Do you handle the Hogmanay countdown and Auld Lang Syne?
Always — and carefully. The countdown, the midnight transition, Auld Lang Syne and the energy immediately afterwards are all planned in advance. Hogmanay is the one night of the year when the midnight moment has to be exactly right, and we treat it accordingly.
Can you coordinate with the venue on dinner dance timings?
Yes — we do this as standard for Christmas dinner dances. We liaise directly with your events coordinator on the running order, when the meal finishes, any speeches or presentations, and when dancing starts. The transition from dinner to disco is one of the moments that makes or breaks a Christmas party night.
Are you insured and PAT tested?
Yes — full public liability insurance and PAT-tested equipment as standard. Documentation available for any hotel or licensed venue that requires it, which most do. All sorted as part of the booking process.
