Wedding DJ at Archerfield House East Lothian — Kirsten & Greg Lorenz

1 11th August 2019 by James Veal Leave a Comment

Archerfield House in East Lothian was the spectacular setting for the wedding reception of Kirsten and Greg Lorenz — a couple who flew over from New Orleans with 40 friends and family, absolutely ready to party. It was one of those evenings where the energy in the room was electric from the moment the first dance ended.

Premier Disco has performed at weddings across East Lothian for many years, and Archerfield House is one of the finest venues in the county. The combination of the stunning setting, a brilliant couple and a crowd who were there for a good time made this a night to remember.

The First Dance

The evening opened with two first dances back to back — Ray LaMontagne’s You Are The Best Thing for Kirsten and Greg, followed by Lee Ann Womack’s I Hope You Dance for the parents. Both songs set exactly the right tone: warm, heartfelt, and with just enough energy to get the room moving.

Live Saxophone at Archerfield

Right after the first dances came something a little special — two live sets from saxophonist Ben Noir, who brought tremendous energy and showmanship to the floor. Having a live musician woven into the evening alongside the DJ is something that works brilliantly for a crowd who are ready to celebrate, and this was a perfect example of that. The combination kept the momentum high throughout the night.

A Night of Eclectic Music

One of the joys of working with a crowd from across the world is the music requests you get. Kirsten and Greg’s guests kept things wonderfully unpredictable — a very eclectic mix that spanned genres and eras. It’s exactly the kind of challenge that makes a night like this genuinely fun to DJ. Thankfully almost every request was in the library, and the floor stayed full from first dance to last song.
