Setting Up at Assembly Rooms Edinburgh
The Assembly Rooms has dedicated supplier access and an experienced events team, which helps enormously given the scale of what you’re setting up for. Setup for a DJ at the Assembly Rooms really comes down to speaker placement — getting even coverage across a room this large is the main technical challenge. The venue also has its own AV infrastructure, which can be used alongside or instead of an external setup depending on the event. Because of the scale involved, it’s worth allowing plenty of time for setup and a proper sound check.

The Music Hall is a large, high-ceilinged ballroom — one of the biggest event spaces in central Edinburgh. Given the scale, you need a properly sized system to fill the room, and speaker positioning matters more than it would somewhere smaller. The room is visually spectacular too, and it responds beautifully to lighting effects — uplighting the columns and walls here creates a genuinely dramatic atmosphere.
