A race night does not have to be a stand-alone event. We recently ran one as the first half of a 50th birthday party, with the races up first and the disco taking over once the final race was done. Guests had something to cheer about from the moment they arrived, and the money raised went to a charity the host supports.
The format suits birthday and private party hosts who want the night to raise money for a good cause. It also helps with mixed groups, because family, friends and colleagues who do not all know each other have a shared reason to get involved before the dancing starts.
How a Race Night and Disco Evening Can Run

Do we need any experience?
Not at all. Most of our bookings come from first-time organisers. We guide you through everything before the event and handle all the technical side on the night.
How many people do we need?
Race nights work best with 50 or more guests, though we have run successful nights with smaller groups.
What venue do we need?
You need a room large enough for your guests with a clear wall or screen for projection. Bowling clubs, golf clubs, community halls and pub function suites all work perfectly. Recent venues include Falkirk Golf Club, Parkside Bowling Club, Sighthill Bowling Club and Wallyford Miners Welfare.
How long does a race night last?
A typical 8-race evening runs for around 3 hours. We can adjust the number of races to fit your schedule.
Can we use real money betting?
Yes — almost all our events use cash betting. UK law sets some conditions but most community fundraisers fall comfortably within those rules.
Can you add a disco after the races?
Absolutely — our most popular add-on. We can run both as a combined package. Many clients also add Banging Bingo as a feature between the races.
Can we have a race night as part of a birthday or private party?
Yes. It works very well, and we have run one as the first half of a 50th birthday party. The races go first, then the DJ takes over once the final race is done. We will agree the running order with you in advance so the timings suit your guests and your venue.
Can we raise money for a charity of our choice?

How long should the race night part be if we are also having a disco?
A full eight-race evening runs for around three hours, which suits a stand-alone fundraiser. For a party we would normally suggest a shorter card of races so the dancefloor gets plenty of time, and we can adjust the number of races to fit your schedule.
Are you insured?
Yes. Premier Disco carries full public liability insurance and all equipment is PAT tested. Documentation available on request.
How far in advance should we book?
We recommend at least 6 to 8 weeks. Autumn, pre-Christmas and Spring dates go quickly.
