Premier Disco has many years of experience in providing the best wedding DJs and other wedding entertainment. Our Edinburgh DJ service is based in Edinburgh but we regularly play at weddings throughout Scotland and northern England.
Well before your big day, at the planning stage, we find it is often beneficial to meet with you. We will discuss your requirements in detail. This allows us to get a feel for any plans you have already made. We may even be able to plan our part a bit better. It also gives you the reassurance knowing that you have met your entertainment planner.
The evening entertainment is one of the most anticipated parts of your wedding day. We will adapt our wedding service to suit your requirements.

PREMIER WEDDING DJ’S
Our wedding presenters come with the latest professional sound and lighting equipment. They each have many years of experience performing at parties of all descriptions. This will all be will set up to fit in with your timings and schedule on the day. For safety, we ensure our equipment is fully PAT tested annually. We also have £10 million Public Liability Insurance ensuring a trouble-free, enjoyable celebration.
CHOOSE YOUR MUSIC
We carry an extensive selection of music covering all ages and styles. We have the experience to play the right mix of music at a suitable level. As part of our service, we like our couples to provide a shortlist of music. This should include any advice about the first dance etc. We will set up your online planner where you can view our music catalogue. You can select the music you would like to hear on your special day.
Having such a large music collection we are rarely caught out by not having that special tune. However, if we do not have them all will do everything in our power to obtain them for you. You are also welcome to provide any music you wish. The only caveat is that we have it in advance of the day of your wedding. We need to ensure it will work on our systems.
Our DJs always dress smartly to suit the occasion. They present themselves according to the event. Shirt and tie are normal.

We are based near Edinburgh but are happy to travel to your venue. You can be assured that we will always arrive in good time to get everything ready and still have time to spare.
Entertainment at weddings normally starts with the DJ or maybe a wedding band. There is often a period of time after the ceremony where nothing much seems to be going on. The wedding party literally just hang about until the wedding breakfast or the reception itself. There are options to fill this often extended period of time and add a little entertainment for your guests. It is also best to keep the children occupied during important points of your day.
With so many people coming together the last thing they want is loud overpowering music! We agree and understand. Your ideas and suggestions will be used to provide the correct balance.
Some audiences like a gentle introduction after their wedding breakfast. After the speeches, cake cutting, and first dances, the entertainment can start quite gently. We can build up the energy during the first hour as guests will respond better. We will always work with you to decide what is best at any particular time.
Alternatively, you may wish for a full-on wedding entertainment sensational party vibe. We can get the tempo moving early and keep it moving with your requested music and the requests of your guests.
Other services for your wedding reception
We are often asked to provide other services for our wedding clients. These include Karaoke, Giant Games, a Wedding Quiz, Silent Disco, and many more. To meet the demands of clients, we may hire trusted external suppliers. They will work to the same high standard as we do.
Ideally, Karaoke shouldn’t take up a lot of your evening. Karaoke can be a very useful addition to your wedding celebrations especially if this will get more of your guests involved.

Typically when our wedding clients ask about a quiz they mean the Shoe Quiz. The Shoe Quiz is very popular and can be seen in many YouTube videos.
Your DJ will have the bride and groom on chairs back to back on the dance floor. Each will have one of each of their shoes in their hands. When asked a question by the DJ they will respond by holding up a shoe.
There is a list of generic question which can be used but this gets really interesting when the happy couple adds some of their own questions.
We can also provide a wedding quiz based on our Premier SpeedQuizzing system. Again we have many generic questions we can use but this is also enhanced with some contribution from our clients.
Silent Wedding DJ
By now, we are all familiar with the idea of Silent Disco. You may have seen this at a festival or elsewhere but what value can it have at a wedding?
An evening celebration is typically about 5 hours in duration. During that time, your DJ will entertain your guests with a variety of kinds of music to suit all of the guests. What happens when you have a large part of your audience which prefers a lot of R&B, dance, Old Skool, or any other genre of music. Well, simply put, your DJ is in a no-win situation because although some want to focus on their preferences you also have many family and guests looking for typical wedding music and cheese.
The answer is Silent Disco. Your DJ can have a different genre of music on 3 different channels. Channel 1 could be typical wedding music and channels 2 & 3 could change to best suit their own taste in music. That way everybody can hear what they like.
Wedding DJ or Band or both?
Some weddings have live music. We can arrange many different types of entertainment for you. We can provide a ceilidh DJ package, piper, pianist, string quartet, and much more.
A wedding DJ combined with a professional band is a fantastic combination for wedding entertainment. We have a selection of bands of all types to call upon. Depending on availability, we can provide that extra variety to your wedding reception. Get the relatives talking and dancing with new family members they don’t know… What a way to break the ice! Our DJ and live music option is fantastic value.
We work closely with any other providers to make sure everything runs as smoothly as possible. Some venues will serve a buffet right after, or in the middle of, the bands set. We will simply go into background mode until you and your guests are ready for the memorable experience you are about to witness.
